Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log in to the Hosting Control Panel to make changes to my Zebradots account?

The Zebradots Hosting Control Panel allows you to:

  • See your free disk space
  • View how much bandwidth has been used for the current month
  • Make changes to your hosting account
  • Add email accounts and email aliases
  • Modify your DNS records

WARNING: The Hosting Control Panel is a powerful tool. Many of the changes you can make could easily break your website, email, database, or any number of other settings or services we have configured for you. You should not make any changes to these settings unless you're following steps provided by our support staff or posted documentation. It is also extremely difficult for our team to troubleshoot problems if you can't remember what you changed. We recommend taking notes, so that you can revert to your previous settings if something breaks.

  • Locate the Your Account Details sheet, printed when creating your account
  • On this sheet, find the link to log in to the Hosting Control Panel, which is usually https://_YOUR_DOMAIN_NAME_:10000/
  • Open this URL in your browser, being careful to type in the "S" on https:// and the :10000/ at the end
  • If your domain name is not configured yet, the link will not work; you will need to use your temporary domain name instead
  • If you're unable to open the page, be sure to double-check the address you typed in, because it's tricky to enter it correctly!
  • Your browser may warn of an untrusted connection (as shown below); accept the certificate and proceed

A certificate warning may appear
  • Next, you will see the page below prompting you to log in, as shown below
  • Enter your username, which can be found on the page titled Your Account Details -- usually this is the first part of your domain name (the part before the dot), but double-check to make sure
  • Enter your password, which is the admin password you selected when you created the account
  • Click Login
  • If the login fails, double-check the username and password printed on Your Account Details sheet
