Frequently Asked Questions

How can I change the pictures in my image gallery?

The Gallery module is different from the usual pages that contain editable content. When you log in to edit it, you will see options and settings rather than the usual WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor.

Among the settings, you will notice a dropdown menu which allows you to specify a folder. This is the folder that contains images for your photo gallery. So in order to change the images in your gallery, you will need to go to the Media tab, enter the specified folder (which is usually "gallery") to delete the sample images and upload your new photos. Once they are uploaded into the folder specified on the Gallery page, they will appear automatically!

Please note that large images, or images straight from a digital camera, are much too large for viewing on a website, and should probably be resized. The Gallery module tries to resize large images for you, but if you upload a big file, this will still fail. Try searching our FAQ to find out more about the recommended image sizes and some free tools that can help you make your pictures the right size (and your pages load much faster for your visitors).
